Can the Direct-Mode Operate even in remote ares, far from any Network of Infrastructure?
Yes. The Devices are self synchronizing and need no support, what so ever, from any Network.
Does the Direct-Mode comply with communication standards?
Yes. Direct-Mode technology is based on the GSM standard. The module is certified by CE and FCC.
What is the range of operation I can expect from the Direct-Mode?
D2D ranges are 1-1.5km in urban areas and up to 4km in rural areas (LOS). Those ranges will multiply as more devices join, utilizing the repeaters, to create a mesh network.
How Many users can the Direct-Mode support?
Capacity in not an issue for the Direct-Mode protocol. Each Channel can support up to a 1000 different Groups. Each Group can support up to a 1000 users.
The ability to work in separate groups, while on the same channel, allows a very large number of users to be split into smaller groups that can hold more private sessions while still supporting each others MESH network.
Can Direct-Mode be connect to a Networks’ PTT service?
Yes. The Direct-Mode App will gateway, at zero time delay, all sessions from the network to the Direct-Mode and the other way around. Direct-Mode was designed to also be an integral part of a wider scale system.
Is it difficult to operate the repeater and the gateway embedded in each device ?
Not at all. The users needs only to push to talk when he or she needs to communicate. The operation of the repeater and the Gateway is done seamlessly to the user and doesn’t interfere with any functionality of the mobile device or the Direct-Mode.
How does Direct-Mode compare to Tetra DMO?
Tetra DMO did serve our Public Safety officers for many years but like many other system it can’t offer the many benefits a more advanced system such as the Direct-Mode can. Users of Direct-Mode can: Move continuously between On and Off network. Create a true, dynamic, MESH network which is ideal in urban environments, and underground. Communicate D2D using voice and data. Gateway with zero delay between the Network and D2D.
Can I communicate via Direct-Modes while concurrently using the Networks’ PTT service?
Yes. The technology was designed in such a way that it will never interfere with any other features or functions. It was built to fit the needs of the most demanding mission critical users.
